Despite the level of team spirit throughout the halls of Roosevelt, the Rough Riders unfortunately fell short against the Ravenna Ravens with a final score of 27-9.

To start off the game, Roosevelt took an early lead with a 29 yard field goal from kicker, Justin Dunfee, who said hitting his first field goal of the season was, “a great feeling, but the fans and my teammates made it even better.”

But it was all Ravens after that.

With a score of 7-3 at half-time, the game was still up for grabs. After the half, Ravenna did not slow down adding 13 points before Roosevelt scored again.

After a nice pass for a touchdown from quarterback Donovan Daetwyler, and a missed extra point, Roosevelt trailed 20-9 with a few minutes still left on the clock. Even though they were down, things started to look up for a moment after a recovered onside kick which gave Roosevelt the ball back.

Unfortunately, just the very next play Roosevelt fumbled and gave the ball right back to Ravenna. This just about sealed the deal for the Ravens, but just to add onto their already double digit lead, they drove down the field and scored another touchdown, making the final score 27-9.

Roosevelt looks to improve their 1-2 record this week as they go to face Barberton.
